About Me

Welcome! I’m so glad you’ve landed here.  I’m Sarah Schupack, a licensed Marriage and Family therapist, #84326, in Los Angeles, California, with extensive experience and training helping people heal from the effects of trauma and become more fully integrated as human beings. I help clients connect with their inner voice and their inner wisdom and their innate ability to grow.

Clients often leave sessions having reconnected with themselves and express having a felt sense of things like “I feel so calm” or “I feel better and totally different than when I started the session with you”. My goal it to help clients not only feel more calm and relaxed but also gain greater insight and ability to problem solve, have new perspectives about their situation and access their inner resiliency and ability to overcome.

I see consistent evidence in my clinical work that our minds & bodies know how heal themselves. Just like the body repairs a puncture to the skin, our mind and body know how to repair from emotional and psychological pain and suffering. Our ability to bounce back and recover from pain can get sticky when it comes to some of our most shameful, dangerous, and confusing experiences. That’s why having the help of a skilled trauma-trained therapist to help guide you out of these stuck places and to the place where your mind and body can do the rest.

Part of my work includes teaching clients mind/body based calming tools they can use at home to help them lower their anxiety and return to doing what they need to do or what they enjoy doing. The tools also include ways to help access more of our inner resiliency and sense of confidence, courage, connection, calm. Treatment in session involves working with traumatic events and reprocessing them so they no longer are triggering nor create a fight/flight/freeze response when one remembers what happened.

Because trauma healing starts in the mind and body, I’ve invested in many advanced trainings in healing trauma with the following modalities and use a combination of the following approaches. To learn more about some of these modalities please search under the Services drop down menu above.
